Maisha was born on September 9, 1974 she was shot by a stray bullet in our Mom's first floor apartment in Tompkins Houses in Brooklyn, New York on December 28, 2002. We work hard to make sure "NO FAMILY" goes through what our family has been through.
Both Sides of the Violence Inc. is a charitable organization as described in 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; EIN#87-1111476, registered in the state of New York. In accordance with the Internal Revenue Service guidelines, Both Sides of the Violence Inc. maintains discretion and sole control over the use of all donated funds once a tax-deductible receipt is issued. All donations are non-refundable. Both Sides of the Violence Inc. honors the donor’s request for any of our pre-approved programs and projects whenever possible. In rare cases when that is not possible, gifts will be used where needed. Therefore, donors explicitly release Both Sides of the Violence Inc. from any restrictions on how those are funds are spent. No goods or services were provided in return for any contribution. Contributions are generally tax-deductible to the limit allowed by law if the donor itemizes.

BSV has a unique way to cater to the victims of violence while at the same time servicing the perpetrators of violent crimes. Having lost a family member to gun violence...we try to make sure no family goes through what we go through every day! We also find a way to give resources to the community so they dont become victims nor perpetrators.

We are a team of Violence Interrupters and Outreach Workers that care about our communities! We are collaborating with local CBOs, hospitals, schools, and churches to do community outreach and bring resources and jobs!
